Some believe the world is built on a turtle’s back.

Others believe they are symbols of antiquity, stability and fertility.

Turtle and the Trade Winds fuses fragments of Indigenous myths and legends with Australia’s rich maritime history and Indonesian heritage. Seafarers, hand woven turtles and animated drawings transport us to worlds of adventure and endurance, imagination and longing.

Original music and song from North West Indigenous coastal communities intertwine different aspects of the turtle’s life in a journey of discovery.

Turtle and the Trade Winds will linger in your memory for a long, long time.

“…the audience sitting with mouths agape, mesmerised at the show which combines elements of dance, puppetry, animation, storytelling with lovely original music and magical lighting effects.”
