Masquerading amongst perfect strangers…

When travelling on public transport prepare to be delightfully surprised; the Riders may board at any station, at any time…

For four weeks leading up to the UNIMA 2008 Festival, commuters may unwittingly become extras in Riders; a series of improvisational stories performed by creatures in disguise.

Riders capture the ebb and flow of time and how travelling transforms us. In Riders public and theatre space converge through subtle interventions with spectators. With each journey, another story unfolds.

Conceptually driven by artist in residence Deborah Hunt, Riders is a collaborative project between Edith Cowan University’s Contemporary Performance students’, Spare Parts Puppet Theatre and the Public Transport Authority of Western Australia.

Who knows what will happen on your daily journey when these enchanted characters with their precious baggage choose to ride.
