With lots of fun for everyone
Here's Mr Squiggle, sing a happy tune
You can see we're as happy as can be
Mr Squiggle, the man from the moon

Despite retiring from 42 years of continuous broadcasting, Mr Squiggle is still as sharp as ever, whistling his theme song and ready to launch his Rocket and travel to Perth!

Spare Parts Puppet Theatre and The State Library of Western Australia are proud to take you and your family on a journey down memory lane with Mr Squiggle - Australia’s longest running children’s television show.

On July 1st 1959, Mr Squiggle made a crash landing into Sydney’s ABC studios in his trusty Rocket. Renowned for his pencil nose and ability to draw upside down, he transformed any child’s puzzling squiggles into a recognisable picture in seconds.

With his friends Doormat, Blackboard, Bill Steamshovel and Gus the Snail, Mr Squiggle rapidly became Australia’s best loved puppet.

This exhibition will feature Mr Squiggle himself, Blackboard and Bill Steamshovel. These iconic puppets have come from the personal archive of creator and master puppeteer, Norman Hetherington.

Come and reminisce your childhood and share your Mr Squiggle stories with family and friends. You can even try your own hand at drawing a masterpiece from squiggles!

This is one puppet guaranteed to draw a big crowd.
