The chest of drawers opens – a series of lectures begin…

This one-man, one-cupboard comedy takes the phrase ‘don’t play with your food’ to a whole new level!

Inspired by the expressions ‘a bun in the oven’ and ‘up the duff’ - A Puppet in the Drawers will have you in contractions.

Life and death, love and romance, global politics and metaphysics – these scientific and philosophical conundrums are explored by Professor Olaf Stevenson as he transforms everyday objects - forks, tin cans, balloons, marzipan, bananas, and leeks - into hilarious animations.

Will the lovesick leek meet the banana of its dreams? Will Mr Palette break the world record for cheese throwing? Only an evening with the Professor will tell.

“The transformation of ordinary everyday objects to hilarious effect... goes to the very heart of the nature of theatre in its parallel with the first games of children.”
