Literary master or literary butcher?
Puppeteer Stéphane Georios becomes the meat cleaver assassin of puppets, objects and Shakespeare.
Over the course of three gruelling chapters, Shakespeare’s famous plays Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, and Richard III are devoured through delicious puppets and bizarre object theatre.
Romeo and Juliet is played by the puppeteer’s clothes, Hamlet takes the form of ripped paper and Richard III is re-enacted with a slab of raw meat.
How does the cast of Hamlet tragically die in a frying pan? Who will play the belt, tie or shoe in Romeo and Juliet’s tragic love story? Which piece of meat will win the battle for the crown of England and who will get the chop?
Over an evening of omelette making, fashion and passion, and morbid meat mincing – Richard is a feast that will leave you bursting at the seams!
You will never look at Shakespeare or a piece of meat the same way…
“A comedic feat drawing on the crossbred universe of street theatre and circus, with the whole pivoting on Shakespeare’s classic texts.”
